We all know that holidays are great, but I bet you didn’t know that one of my FAVORITE holidays is happening this weekend… Seriously, y’all, I can’t even tell you how excited I am for this day every year. The day everyone buzzes about… The one that comes around every February… The one that is all over our televisions for weeks leading up… The one that stirs feelings of love, companionship, pride, celebration, heartbreak, being over-stuffed from fabulous food, headrushes from jumping up and down with excitement… The one that everyone will be talking about for a while… Of course, by now, I’m sure you’ve figured out that the holiday I am talking about is…. SUPERBOWL SUNDAY!!!!
Now, whether or not your team is in the Superbowl this year (sad fact, my favorite team didn’t quite make it all the way! Either way, I’m a football fan! Go Pats!), you are surely gearing up for a great day watching the biggest football game of the year surrounded by your friends, family, and tried-and-true or bandwagon fans!
So, I wanted to give you a few tips for the big day! For all of those hostess-with-the mostess(es) out there, be sure to BEEF UP your party! Beef is a super versatile, incredibly delicious protein that everyone is sure to love!
NUMBER ONE RESOURCE for AMAZING beef recipes is of course BeefItsWhatsForDinner.com. The website even has a whole section about tailgating/game day! From a sizzling maple-bacon beer burger to buffalo-style beef bites to nacho beef dip, this category is mouth-watering, and the rest of the site proves to be just as tantalizing! I have this site bookmarked on my phone and I visit often! Check it out!
Another great feature of BeefItsWhatsForDinner.com? INFOGRAPHICS! I know, I know… You’re probably thinking “Why in the heck is this crazy girl so excited about infographics?” WELL, these are easy to read, fantastic resources! Key points included are various beef cooking methods in 3 simple steps, beef at its best (all from the “Confident Cooking with Beef” pamphlet): storage, handling and preparation techniques, understanding labels, and more! One of my favorites is “ground beef thawing.”
Seriously, check out the website, and remember to have fun with it! So many recipes, so much helpful information, so much excitement about BEEF!!!
One other thing I wanted to touch on for this blog post… We wouldn’t have footballs if it weren’t for cattle…
Whatever your plans are for Super Bowl Sunday 2016, be safe and have fun! #GodBlessFootball
Here’s to good rains, great friends, and healthy cattle,
~Kenzie
