Looking to spice up your little black (or solid colored) dress? Well, do you happen to have a favorite shirt that belongs to your cowboy’s closet? Borrow it for date night! Easily layer an oversized pearl snap or button up over your dress to add a little western flair!
Bonus? You get a little extra coverage, too!
Talking about the trend: Menswear has made its way into women’s fashion heavily over the course of the past few years and I am on board with this trend! We’ve seen sets and suiting pop up a lot, but the other version to work with is creating looks that utilize fashion and function that can be found in men’s work shirts! Long sleeve button ups like the one featured in this look quite literally work beautifully on the ranch, but add a little touch of cowboy culture to a fancy lady look! How fun is that…
Accessorizing: Add on a concho belt over the dress or over the shirt to cinch in your waist and give the look a more flattering flair! And don’t forget to layer on some turquoise jewelry to finish the style!
Pro Shopper Tip: Let’s take a moment to chat about our favorite men’s shirts! I love shopping the most beautiful pieces from Roper and Stetson ~ Two brands who truly hold the western lifestyle at heart! The button up featured in this outfit is by Roper….
Sizing: If you’re a tall gal like me, you’ll appreciate that Stetson and Roper pieces come in a good range of sizes, offering a nice length of torso and arms to add versatility to their pieces ~ style them fashionably like this or easily wear them for work! For ranching, I would typically order a 2X (Tall when available) in their men’s pieces, and there is a lot to work with there. I ordered a 3X Tall in this shirt and there is plenty of room to use this as a duster in this look!
That’s all for now, friends! Try out this tip next time you’re headed out for the night…
